Deorukh becomes a renewed centre of Vedic learning

 

 

For generations, the picturesque town of Devrukh, in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, has been blessed with a rich tradition of fostering Vedic Studies.

Even today, despite the decline in the number of DashGranthis, the people of Devrukh recognize the value of Vedic Education. Concerned at its imminent decline, they have constantly sought ways and means to bring about its revival.

Enthused by the spirit of action instilled in them by some members, and assured of financial support, the community devoted its own time and energy and created its own educational institution for Vedic Studies.

How to reach Devrukh

By Air - Via Kolhapur, followed by two hours (100 kilometers) car drive.
By Train - From Mumbai Or From Goa To Sangameshwar Road railway station, followed by 20 km drive.
By Road from Mumbai - 300 Km. from Mumbai on Mumbai-Goa highway NH 17 to Sangameshwar, followed by 16 km drive.
By Road from Pune - 300 Km. from Pune.Drive from Pune to Kolhapur, followed by drive to Devrukh through very scenic and beautiful Sahyadri Range.
